Playing it

The demo alternates novel segments (reading and dialogue) with adventure segments (interacting, working and exploring 1998 Shibuya). Money comes from piecework at home, progression comes from stickers in Reina's Angel Passport, and there are no fail states to worry about. The full breakdown is in the demo guide, with the systems split across Angel Passport stickers and money and part-time jobs.

The full game

Rain98 is a 2026 release with no announced date, and the studio expects 10 to 15 hours of play. Steam on PC is the only platform with an official store page. The delay to 2026 was explained by director Shoon T as a decision to give the game more time, with the extra work going into interactive material that evokes daily life in late-1990s Tokyo. Release date and platforms keeps the full record.
